i have a love/hate relationship with the early morning

I would just like to say that if you did not get up and see the sunrise this morning, you really really missed out...because it was beyond amazing. I love the early mornings. I had to get up to go to work this morning, and God blessed me with a display in the sky that just put me in awe of him once again, and made me so thankful that i had to get out of bed. I also hate the early mornings. I hate them because of the way i feel when my alarm goes off---drowsy..in a fog...jittery...just needing a few more hours of sleep! In those moments, i forget what could possibly await me outside the comfort of my bed.
This morning, however, i couldn't push the snooze button---otherwise 2 cute kids in highland shores would have been without a nanny for the morning.
I'm so thankful i was able to get up though...it was perfect outside this morning. It was one of those mornings where you wish you lived in a house in the country with a deck---the temperature was perfect to sit outside with a light jacket, sip on a cup of coffee, and reflect on the Lord's beauty and majesty. So perfect. Just the way that the sunrise is reminds me so much of the character of the Lord and his effect on us. The sunrise comes right after the darkness---covers it---and replaces it with something magnificent---and he does this every day. Such a display of His mercies being new every morning!
Mornings like this bring back memories to me of when my family used to take vacations up to a lake in Minnesota. I have to say that those have been some of the best times of my life. My parents would wake my brother and i up before the sun rose every morning. We'd eat breakfast and then go out fishing on the lake. There we got to relax, fish, watch the sunrise, and talk trash about who would catch the biggest fish. Awesome times! I'm so thankful that my parents always took us to do stuff outside. I hate when i think about kids these days whose parents just let them sit in front of the tv all day---especially on amazing days like today.
Anyway, there's a little trip down memory lane for ya.---and another blog---my second this week! ----and this one is a lot more upbeat than the last one.----ps: about that last post; i'm doing tooooons better! The Lord is teaching me a lot right now---I just have to listen!

i totally feel you! sunrises are my favorite because i think it's so rare that we actually experience them. you have to go the extra mile, and i think that makes it so special. it's a good day when you are able to wake up early and drink in the beauty of the day from first light.

i love this post. and i love you. :)
